Open your TransferWiseaccount.
1. Why you can save money by TransferWise?
Pay only around 0.8% to 1% of the sending amount.
And there are no fees,
for example,
(1) No exchanging rate spread
between your currency and JPY.
(ordinary the bank shows as T.T.S.*)
*It will be about 1% from mid rate(major currencies)
to 4%(emerging country)
(2) No receiving bank charges.
It will be from 2,500 to 6,000 JPY
(for your information)
If you send money from ordinary bank to Japan,
you need to pay many kinds of fees, for example,
(1)Oversees remittance fee at the sending bank
around 30-50 USD from America and Europe
(10-25 USD from emerging countries)
(2)Intermediate bank fee (sometimes noe fee)
But, if you send by Japanese Yen,
all Japanese intermediate banks
take away 6,000 JPY as an intermediate bank fee!!
(3)Receiving bank charges
2,500-4,000 JPY
2. How can you escape
inputting Japanese "katakana letters"?
TransferWise sends the money in Japan
(not your money in your counrtry)
to the beneficiary's account.
So TransferWise need follow Japanese system,
"katakana letters" input.
*If you want to use Japanese letter by your device,
You need to install Microsoft IME Japanese,
google Japanese input, etc.
And you need to understand katakana letters correctly.
You can escape
inputting "katakana letters" by 2 ways.
You need to get beneficiary's email address.
I explain about 2 ways.
Transfers by beneficiary's name
(English letters) and email address
Transfers to TransferWise users
only by the beneficiary's email address.
(1) Transfers by beneficiary's name
(English letters) and email address
*This feature is not currently available
on Android and i-phone apps.
You can send money
by only beneficiary's
+ name(by English letters)
+ email address.
TransferWise confirms your beneficiary
about the beneficiary's account information.
Then, Japanese beneficiary informs TransferWise
the account information by "katakana letters".
Then TransferWise sends money to the account.
You don't need to input katakana letters.
How you can do it?
Enter beneficiary's name and email address,
and delete the check
at "I know the bank details".

*Transfers to an email address
But when you send from Unided States,
TransferWise cannot accept transfers
by beneficiary's email address.
How can you escape
inputting Japanese "katakana letters"?
(2) Transfers to TransferWise users
only by the beneficiary's email address.
*This feature is not currently available
on Android and i-phone apps.
If your beneficiary is TransferWise user,
you can find the beneficiary's account information
only by beneficary's email address.
Enter beneficiary's email address,
you can find it.
*beneficiary's name is not necessary.
